Your Party Survival Guide: 3 Look Ideas That Last Until the Afterparty (and are Ethical!)

if there's one thing I know, it’s that party season should be fun, not fragile. We’re talking about those big nights out—whether it’s glittery disco vibes, a corporate bash, or just an epic night with your besties.

You’re putting in the effort, so your makeup needs to do two things: look totally unique and stay put for 12+ hours. No melting, no caking, and absolutely no compromise on your cruelty-free values.

If you’re ready to ditch the boring black eyeliner and embrace a look with real longevity, grab a cup of tea (or something stronger!) and let’s dive into my three favorite high-impact party looks.

1. The Celestial Eye: Your Disco Ball Moment

Yes, this is an exaggerated version of the look but it’s still some fun inspo! Image by Claire Bemister Photography

This look is for those who aren’t afraid of a little (or a lot) of shine. It’s perfect for music events, holiday parties, or any time you need to feel otherworldly and bright.

The Vibe: Iridescent, high-shimmer, and totally dreamy. Think less 'subtle sparkle' and more 'stolen stardust.'

How to Achieve the Look:

  1. The Base (The MVP): Even though the eyes are the focus, the foundation is the hero. Use a long-wear, light-coverage ethical foundation (this is the core of my upcoming Masterclass secrets!). You need skin that looks like skin, not a canvas for the glitter. Set it with a fine, translucent powder—especially in the T-zone.

  2. The Wash: Choose one main iridescent cream shadow in a pastel or cool tone (lilac, icy blue, or pale pink). Apply this over the entire lid, blending softly into the crease. This is your canvas.

  3. The Stardust: Now for the fun part! Take your biodegradable, cruelty-free glitter (this is non-negotiable—we love the planet!) and apply it using a clear glitter glue.

    • Pro-Tip: Don't just apply it all over. Concentrate the glitter in a precise C-shape around the outer corner of the eye and up toward the temple. This lifts the eye and looks super high-fashion.

  4. The Finish: A fierce coat of black mascara, and keep the lip soft and glossy in a cool nude or pale pink.

My Longevity Tip: When applying your base, press your products in with a sponge rather than rubbing. This ensures a flawless, non-cakey layer that glitter glue can adhere to without slipping.

2. The Deep Ethereal: Moody, Luxurious Romance

If you associate winter with deep berry lips, rich jewel tones, and a slightly gothic, romantic aesthetic, this one’s for you. It’s sophisticated enough for a black-tie event but still delivers that alternative, mysterious vibe.

The Vibe: Old Hollywood meets deep forest magic.

How to Achieve the Look:

  1. The Flawless Base: This look requires a beautifully even complexion to let the deep colours stand out. Perfect your base with full, yet lightweight, ethical coverage. Keep the contour sharp and the highlight soft (nothing chunky, just a moonlit sheen).

  2. The Eye Drama: Use a warm, deep bronze or a rich burgundy in the crease and under the lower lash line. Blend, blend, blend! Then, take a metallic shadow in the same tone (like a burnt copper) and press it onto the centre of the lid. Define the top lash line with a precise black gel liner.

  3. The Power Lip: This is the moment. Grab your long-wear berry, wine, or deep crimson ethical liquid lipstick. Apply it with a lip brush for perfect precision (messy deep lipstick is a party killer).

  4. Balance is Key: Since the eyes and lips are both strong, go easy on the blush. A hint of cool-toned rose across the cheeks is enough.

My Longevity Tip: Use a lip liner that exactly matches your deep liquid lipstick to prevent any "feathering" or bleeding throughout the night (especially while sipping those cocktails!).

3. The Copper Queen: Warmth and Sculpted Glam

This is my favourite look for the ones who loves a monochromatic, chic, and warm-toned look. It’s gorgeous on every skin tone and feels utterly luxurious—it looks like you spent hours, but it’s actually really quick.

The Vibe: Rich, autumnal warmth, sculpted bronze, and high-shine copper.

How to Achieve the Look:

  1. The Sculpt: Use a warm-toned ethical bronzer or a neutral matte contour powder to sculpt the cheeks, forehead, and jawline. Keep the blush warm—think terracotta or burnt peach. This is about depth and structure.

  2. The Seamless Shadow: Use two shades of copper/rust shadow. Sweep the matte rust shade through the crease and outer V. Then, take a high-shimmer, metallic copper shadow and press it heavily onto the lid and blend it seamlessly up into the crease colour. The shadows should look woven together.

  3. The Liner Pop: For an alternative twist, use a deep brown or black pencil liner and only line the upper waterline (tightlining). This adds definition without closing up the eye.

  4. The Lip: Pair this warm look with a sophisticated, long-wear warm nude or soft caramel lip shade.

My Longevity Tip: To ensure your eye shadow stays vibrant and crease-free all night, always use a dedicated, long-wear eye primer before starting your shadows. It makes a HUGE difference.
