A Fantasy Met Gala-Themed Wedding at Branxholm Park | Captured by Maddie Farris Photography

If you've ever wondered what would happen if high vintage fashion and fantasy had a love child in the Scottish countryside—this wedding is your answer. Set against the lush, storybook backdrop of Branxholm Park, this Met Gala-inspired celebration was pure magic—think haute couture meets enchanted forest, with a touch of editorial glamour.

And who better to capture all the drama, elegance, and fantasy details than Maddie Farris Photography? Maddie’s signature style—dreamy, candid, and beautifully real—was the perfect match for this unforgettable day. The couple gave guests one glorious brief—Met Gala fantasy—and trust us, they understood the assignment.

The Venue: A Hidden Gem in the Scottish Borders

Branxholm Park is basically what you'd get if you asked a child to draw a house from their wildest imagination. Surrounded by woodlands and rolling hills, this exclusive-use country house offers total privacy and endless romantic corners. From the ivy-covered stone walls to the candlelit orangery, the setting felt like stepping into a fantasy novel (but with better shoes).

Eli & Salo: Bridal Looks Straight Out of a Fairytale Fantasy

The brides' looks were nothing short of iconic—each one a perfect fusion of fantasy, vintage charm, and full-blown Met Gala drama. One bride wore a voluminous layered lace gown, complete with puffed sleeves, frilly cuffs, and a cascade of romantic ruffles. Her pastel pink hair was crowned with fresh florals, and she finished the look with heart-shaped jewellery and lace-up boots worthy of a Victorian fairytale. Her partner dazzled in an ethereal white gown with a sweeping silhouette, accented by a medieval-inspired silver headpiece and chainmail-like detailing across the shoulders. Her bouquet mirrored her bold energy—lush, wild, and full of deep red roses and ferns. Together, they looked like two goddesses walking straight out of a fantasy epic (but way cooler).

The inspo for the makeup looks were very editorial inspired - ethereal, glowy, and youthful with a very specific no liner or lashes request. Salo’s wanted her hair to be styled into fluffy curls and I incorporated a waterfall braid each side, to keep the look very romantic. Eli’s hair was ringlet curls and the focus was smoothing down frizz, making it look very soft and shiny. They ended up flicking at the sides in a very 70s way which matched her dress perfectly and complimented the chainmail headpiece.

Maddie Farris’s Magic Touch

What made this wedding truly unforgettable was how Maddie Farris captured it all. From intimate stolen moments in the woods to dramatic editorial portraits that belonged on the pages of Vogue, Maddie’s lens told the story like a modern fairytale. Every shot oozed emotion, elegance, and just the right bit of edge.

If you're dreaming of a wedding that’s bold, beautiful, and unapologetically you, take a cue from this Met Gala-inspired fantasy. Glamour and nature? Turns out they make a pretty perfect pair.
