The best mothers day gifts 2022

Mothers day is creeping up on us again, and if you’re like me, you don’t really know what to get as a gift.

I’ve rounded up some favourite things I’ve seen and hope this makes it easier for you to decide. As always, everything is vegan and cruelty free!

Sustainable Beauty by Justine Jenkins

Justine Jenkins is a brilliant and experienced celebrity makeup artist, who thankfully only uses vegan, cruelty free and eco friendly products (it can be done!). Her book is full of amazing advice to help you understand all the terms in the beauty world and how to become more sustainable when it comes to your beauty routine. It’s really easy to follow and would make a great gift for a mum who is interested in learning about how to become more eco friendly.

Olive & Joyce gift

Olive & Joyce is an independent skincare brand run by Emily, who hand makes all the products. There’s loads of gift sets for the face and body on her website - however I couldn’t choose one to share so I found this Consultation and Skincare Box gift set she does that you can purchase as a voucher. I think this is a great idea! Everyone’s skin is different, so having a consultation is a brilliant way to get personalised recommendations for the products that are going to work best. Emily is really friendly and lovely to talk to, you can’t go wrong with this as a gift.

Moon Phase Macrame

The Badass Collective is a great small business run by Katt, mum to a daughter and identical twin boys. There is a huge selection of products to gift, including clothing, homeware, stationery and accessories. This moon macramé would make a cool addition to the home for a witchy mum!

Makeup Lesson Gift Vouchers

Candles are always a good way to go when it comes to gifts, and these handmade candles by I Got That Crystal Healing are lovely set. There are 3 scents and each one comes with a crystal:

Medik8 Crystal Retinal 3 Serum

I don’t know any older mum that isn’t worried about her looks changing when it comes to ageing (although you shouldn’t worry!). Vitamin A usually is known as Retinol, but Medik8 have a few products with another ingredient of Vitamin A called Retinal. This helps with healthy ageing by visibly minimising fine lines and wrinkles; firming and plumping the complexion to resurface skin texture and softening the face. Plus it works up to 11 times faster than Retinol. It is quite a strong ingredient so it’s best to phase in gradually if you haven’t used it before, or go for a weaker strength which is available. Remember to use at night and always wear sunscreen the day after applying this. A great gift!

Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray Travel Size

I use this in my professional kit a lot as it really helps your makeup stay put. Spray 4-5 pumps after you’ve finished applying your makeup and go about your day worry free! This travel size is also handy for carrying around with you if you do need a refresh later on.

Isle of Paradise Passport to Paradise Kit

I rarely fake tan, but when I do I use Isle of Paradise, who I recommend to everyone! It’s really easy to use, gives a natural colour and glow and is transfer free. This kit contains the medium self tanning water (a green hue to cancel out natural red tones in your skin), the Hyglo Face Self-Tan Serum as well as their tanning applicator mitt. I think the serum is a great idea, as where we are cleansing our face more than our body, the tan will fade quicker. This helps to keep your colour topped up on your face so you can match your body!

EcoTools Daily Defined Eye Kit

These vegan makeup brushes are lovely to use because they are really soft and help makeup become easier to blend. This set for eye makeup will help you create any eye look you need with ease.

The Body Shop new Wellness range

The Body Shop have just released a new Wellness product line which features body products infused with essential oils for Boost, Sleep or Breathe. I love that you can create your own gift pouch and select the products you think are best for your mum, as then you can mix and match the different types into one gift. I think I would go for the Sleep Essential Oil Blend , Boost Exfoliating Hand Wash and the Breathe Weightless Body Gel-Cream for a set to give.

Hydrate & Quench Vitamin E Skincare Kit

This is another great skincare set from The Body Shop. Their Vitamin E range is great for normal to dry/dehydrated skin and is works well at hydrating the skin, so feels very refreshing. The mist is great to carry around and use throughout the day when your skin starts feeling a bit tight and dry.

Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter

This cleansing butter is a must for everyone’s skincare kit! It helps you remove stubborn makeup effortlessly and is great for sensitive skin, helping unclog pores and leaving your skin feeling refreshed and nourished. This is also available for £5 for a limited time when you buy any moisturiser!

Purely Ageless Reviving Eye Cream

This eye cream by Sukin is made with Green Coffee to help reduce the appearance of dark circles, Rosehip Oil for fine lines and Pure Ribose to reduce the appearance of wrinkles. Sukin make all their products with natural ingredients and all vegan and cruelty free.

CRE*M LIQUEUR

Dirty Cow are a brand that create the best vegan chocolate bars and they have now come out with this plant based cream liqueur (salted caramel flavour). If your mum has a sweet tooth, this would be a good purchase!
