Shop small - your 2020 Vegan and Cruelty Free Christmas gift shopping guide

Shop small - your 2020 Vegan and Cruelty Free Christmas gift shopping guide

If this year has taught us anything, it’s that using small, local, and independent businesses really does make a difference. I love supporting the independent shops around where I live, plus the customer service is SO MUCH BETTER and you get much better quality items.

Even down to how items are packaged if ordering online is done differently - small business owners make that extra effort and show they care about their customers.

Here are some gift ideas you can spoil your loved ones with this Christmas, while helping out someone who has worked really hard to stay afloat.

Iaga Candles

Iaga candles offers unique, artistic and mindful candles and wax melts for the lovers of the eccentric and the refined. We are proudly cruelty free and vegan and we are striving to become plastic free by the end of 2021.

All our products are also entirely made in the UK.

Our mission is to create one-of-a-kind sensorial experiences, while also offering a beautiful piece of design and decor. Our candles don't just smell good, they are also a piece of art. In fact, our labels are designed using watercolours painted by me exclusively for the brand.

I am planning a Xmas collection as we speak and I believe it will be out the second week of November!

On The Wright Page

Another hair and makeup artist doing a creative pivot is Kaylor of On The Wright Page. Kaylor offers a range of crafted items with focus on personalised hand embroidery and macrame.

I’m so impressed with the hand embroidery - she’s done a few logos on tote bags for other businesses and they look amazing! My favourite item is the baby scan keepsake, such a gorgeous idea!

I Got That Crystal Healing

I discovered I Got That Crystal Healing at a local vegan market and instantly loved their selection of gifts.

As well as being a vegan company they also pride themselves on being an eco-friendly business.

Products range from handmade soy candles and wax melts to crystal healing items, jewellery and home accessories.

They are really friendly and will always help you discover the best products and crystals for you or your loved ones if you contact them. Love a personalised service!

House of Bendy

There are some really cool artwork and prints on offer at House of Bendy and the prices are so good! Claire (also a hair and makeup artist) offers bespoke commissions if you’re looking for something specific and there are some ready made prints available. Definitely check her work out!

Tiny Sarah’s Cakes

Sarah was the first baker I found that actually made decent vegan cakes! Sarah is vegan herself and her cakes are not only delicious, they are quirky and cute and they will bring a smile to your face.

Her Christmas collection includes a Out of This World Christmas cookies, Treats for Santa and a Christmas Surprise Cake Box.

I hope my friends and family reading this realise just how delicious they are and how it would make a very good Christmas present for a vegan hair and makeup artist that they know…
