Rock and roll vibes at Harewood Forest wedding

Makeup for alternative bride Vikki

Back in May I had such fun doing this makeup for Vikki and her two bridesmaids. Vikki wore a simple black wedding dress with a gorgeous black veil, embroidered with colourful flowers. She married Phil at Harewood Forest in Andover. I’d been to the venue last year to do a glitter bar, so I knew it was all going to look amazing.

The morning was very relaxed, held at Vikki’s parents house and old alternative/emo/rock tunes playing in the background. The brief was full coverage, a little bit of contour, and focus on the eyes. I went with my trusty Danessa Myricks Colorfix Foils eyeshadow in Goldmine. Such a gorgeous shade, especially for Vikki’s blue eyes and it also has some gorgeous sparkle to it. The bridesmaids had a slightly different shade which was more rose gold.

We did try a bold red shade at the preview, which I think looked awesome on her but Vikki felt it was too much so we used a natural shade with a pinky tone to it. It’s always important that you feel comfortable in your makeup, so never be afraid to say that you don’t like something. Your makeup look can always be changed. If you don’t feel like yourself, it’s definitely going to show in the photos.
