[Inspo] Best products for a natural look

The best cruelty free makeup for a natural look

The natural look is the GO TO requested by brides. I can see why (I love it!). You want to feel comfortable and like yourself on the biggest day of your life, so of course having a makeup look that is natural is perfect.

SKIN

First things first - a skincare routine is key!! This is so, so important to help with how makeup sits on your skin. If you’re struggling with your skin, I recommend going to a skincare expert. In Berkshire, Joyce Connor is the pro to go to!

My favourite products to use for a glowy, natural looking skin are by Arbonne. They look amazing but another bonus is that because they contain no mineral oils or nasty ingredients, they let the skin breathe therefore feels like you’re wearing nothing at all! They are also super long lasting, I’ve not found anything yet that lasts as long as Arbonne does.

I also love to use Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter under the foundation - it gives such an amazing glow!

If you don’t need much coverage, I mix Arbonne CC cream with Charlotte Tilbury Wonderglow and apply to the centre of the face, blending outwards. I try and only apply to the areas that most need it, not the whole face. this keeps it super natural. To set, I love to use Hourglass Ambient Light Powder. Take away any extra shine you don’t want with a translucent powder in your shade on a small powder brush.

EYES

I haven’t really found a favourite eyeshadow, I use a lot of different ones. For a natural look, it’s great to use a taupe shade over your lid, and then a subtle darker shade in the socket. A colour that enhances your natural eye colour will make them pop too. Urban Decay Naked Palettes are also fab for this. I have recently started using EcoTools eye brushes - they are so good! Definitely recommend.

The mascara I always use for weddings is Kiko Luxurious Lashes Waterproof mascara, and the best false lashes that look natural are Ardell Demi Wispies. So easy to work with too!

CHEEKS

I love to use a bronzer to warm up the skin and Charlotte Tilbury Beach Stick is brilliant. It blends really well and doesn’t look orange on paler skin tones. Then I use ELF Cosmetics cream blush in a peach or pink tone. Any cream/liquid products are applied before the setting powder, and then you can always go over the bronzer/blusher with a powder product if you need to. Highlight the tops of the cheekbones, down the nose, brow bone and inner corners of the eyes for a gorgeous glow. I always use Charlotte Tilbury highlighter powder (you can get this in the Filmstar Bronze and Glow palettes).

LIPS

There’s lots of options for lips, so I’ll leave this one up to you. It’s all personal preference I think. You can just use a lipliner to colour in the lips, you can use a lipstick on top or on it’s own, you can get liquid lipsticks too. Go for a shade that is close to your natural lip colour and compliments your eye colour and skin tone. The brands I have found really long lasting are Kat von D Beauty, Charlotte Tilbury and Arbonne.

I have realised I missed out brows, but I might actually do a whole blog post on brows and the importance of getting them right!
