How to cleanse your skin properly

A lot of us are told which are the best cleansers to use which is great, but I thought I would share how to cleanse your face properly so you get the benefits of using them!

First things first- things to avoid:

FACE WIPES, ingredients too stripping like alcohol , SLS/SLES, bar soaps, foaming cleansers, synthetic fragrances.

You need to do a morning AND evening cleanse. It sounds a lot more work than it actually is.

An evening cleanse clears your pores from all the dirt/sweat/pollution/makeup/SPF/dead skin cells that have built up over the day.

A morning cleanse will clear your pores again from more dead skin cell turnover, so that the rest of your products can penetrate the skin and you actually get the results you want.

MORNING CLEANSE

Use a cleansing milk or balm to rub into your (dry) skin, wash off using lukewarm water and a clean flannel or face cloth. Easy!

EVENING CLEANSE

If you’re not wearing any SPF or makeup, one cleanse like the morning is fine. Otherwise, you need to do a double cleanse.

You can use eye makeup remover or micellar water as your first cleanse. Micellar water leaves a film on the skin so don’t use this as your second or only cleanse. Or you can use an oil or balm cleanser. Again, work into the skin and then wash off with your flannel/face cloth.

With your second cleanse, use a milk or gel cleanser (with the properties you want for your skin). It can now penetrate the skin so you’ll get the results you actually want.

Then go on with the rest of your routine! I’ll do more detail on other steps in your routine, but this will give you a good start.
